Badlands - Embracing the Hoodoos
There’s something undeniably magical about Alberta’s natural landscapes, and our recent styled shoot in Drumheller is the perfect example of why we love showcasing them. Designed with the breathtaking hoodoos as a backdrop, this shoot brought together raw textures and earthy tones to celebrate the rugged beauty of the badlands.
To complement the striking natural surroundings, we incorporated materials like driftwood, ribbed 24k gold-rimmed wine glasses, ripped fabric, and shimmering tablecloths. The florals mirrored a wild meadow, while the color palette drew inspiration from the stone-grey hoodoos, warm orange hues, soft blues, and even the dirt’s natural brown tones. Every detail was chosen to harmonize with the landscape while adding a touch of refined elegance.
The day brought an unexpected twist—rain! While some might see rain as a challenge, for us, it became a feature. The showers enhanced the scene, creating a vibrant rainbow that added a layer of magic to the shoot. Sure, our bride’s gown got a bit muddy, and the groom’s hair was charmingly windblown, but the joy and love captured between our model couple made it all unforgettable.
We capped off this adventurous day with a champagne toast in front of an intimate white church—a nod to classic romance. This shoot was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the unexpected moments are the ones that make everything extraordinary.
Are you inspired by the wild beauty of Alberta for your wedding? Let us help create something just as magical for your big day!
